"Staying in shape has always been important. In my late 30's I got off track, and had to struggle to get it back together. One of the foundations for Fit4Maui is to help myself and others keep on the right track so we can have the most possible fun that life can throw our way."
For most of his adult life, Mike has been in professional athletics. He was the first person to windsurf at the famed Hookipa Beach park on the Island of Maui in Hawaii, and introduced the world to short board windsurfing and wave sailing.
"That period of my life was the most exciting, and at the same time, the most challenging. I was in the water and in the sun for 6-8 hours every day, sailing hard, and playing hard. I would often train myself beyond what my body could handle. I would literally break down. I wish I knew then what I know now about nutrition, hydration, and cleansing."....Mike Waltze
During that period, Mike won 5 World Windsurfing titles, countless wave sailing events at Hookipa, and was featured in hundreds of publications around the world for his achievements in the sport of sailboarding.
As windsurfing got more popular and more crowded in the early 90's, Mike and friends began to venture on to the outer reefs of Maui, tackling bigger and bigger waves and found themselves creating a whole new way to approach riding giant surf. Tow-in-Surfing became the next level of extreme ocean sports. Little did they know at the time, Mike along with friends Laird Hamilton, Dave Kalama, Brett Lickle, Mark Angulo, Rush Randle, Buzzy Kerbox and Darrick Doerner were paving the future for big wave surfing.

"Those early days at Jaws were even more exciting in ways than the windsurfing era of the eighties, especially with the amount of adrenaline you produce from being scared half to death at times. All of a sudden, we were riding pretty much the biggest waves that had ever been surfed ... anywhere." ...Mike Waltze
Outside of ocean sports, Mike devoted a lot of time and effort into his other passion, cinematography. Waltze Productions Ltd. is his production company based in Hawaii. Over the years, Waltze Productions has shot and produced dozens of television series, extreme sports videos, and been involved with a number of motion picture films. Much of his work is outside of Hawaii and involves traveling the globe.
"When you're doing a lot of traveling, that is the most important time to keep your immune system at it's peak and your body strong. If your immune system is weak, you are inviting whatever germs you come in contact with to jump into your body. We all know what kind of air we breathe while sitting on an airplane for 6-10 hours."
"I now have a regimen of doing a colon cleanse at least twice a year. I take my NanoGreens with NanoPro and Omegas every day as well as the Mike's Magic Tonic. All of these products are 100% concentrated organic foods and my body can feel the difference. I also drink 3 - 4 quarts of alkalized ionized water and sit in the sauna at least 4 days a week. I used to get major colds and flus a few times a year. I now rarely get sick or run down. If I do, it is always because I've disrespected my body and system by either over eating empty foods or driking too much alcohol."..Mike
Mike shares his passion for ocean sports and snowboarding with his wife and 3 daughters. He is one of the founders and partners of Namotu Island Resort in Fiji, and runs both Waltze Productions and Fit4Maui.com. "It is imperative that I stay healthy to keep all these balls in the air" MW
